As children grow, we carefully monitor the eruption of permanent teeth so that any abnormalities can be identified and treated at the right time.

When a permanent tooth is delayed in appearing, this may be due to small obstructions in the gum tissue or eruption cysts. The modern approach to paediatric surgery is as conservative as possible. When necessary, minimally invasive procedures such as gingivectomy or surgical exposure of the tooth can encourage natural eruption without more invasive surgery.

We also correct lip and tongue frenula through frenectomy when they may interfere with breastfeeding, speech, swallowing, tooth development or cause excessive spacing between the incisors.

Every treatment is planned around the child’s growth, prioritising techniques that are minimally traumatic, quick and focused on maximum comfort.
